Young Students Movement Beginners’ Camp

The Young Students Movement (YSM) Beginners’ Camp was organized at Sacred Hearts’ High School Kulshekar on 9th July 2026 from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm in the school auditorium. The camp aimed to introduce students to the vision, values, and activities of the Young Students Movement and to inspire them to become responsible and committed young leaders. The programme began with a warm welcome by Sr Cynthia D’Cunha BS, Headmistress of the school, who welcomed the resource persons and the participating students. She encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunity to develop leadership qualities and Christian values.

The main resource person, Fr Roshan D, Diocesan Director of YSM, introduced the Young Students Movement by explaining its vision, objectives, and the See–Judge–Act methodology. He motivated the students to become active members of the movement and to contribute positively to their school, Church and society.

The second session was conducted by Ms. Amica, former NEXCO member, who led lively ice-breaking activities and explained the Five Rules of YSM through interactive discussions and games. Her session helped the students understand the spirit of teamwork, discipline and service.

A practical CELL Meeting was facilitated by Mr Richard Alvares, giving the students first-hand experience of the YSM method of reflection, discussion, and action. The interactive activities encouraged active participation and strengthened the students’ confidence and leadership skills.

The programme concluded with the enthusiastic YSM Claps and the YSM Anthem, bringing the camp to a joyful close. The active involvement of Mrs Anitha Valder was an inspiration to students.  The students participated wholeheartedly throughout the programme and gained a deeper understanding of the values and mission of YSM. The camp proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, inspiring the students to live out the ideals of faith, service, and leadership in their daily lives.
