
Bethany Foundation Day Celebration at Sacred Hearts

The Sacred Hearts Hr Primary School, Kulshekar, joyfully celebrated the 104th Foundation Day of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany on July 15, 2025.
This day marked the remarkable journey of a congregation founded by Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas in 1921 in Mangalore with a mission to uplift and educate, especially the marginalized sections of society.
The programme commenced with a Prayer Service, invoking God’s blessings and guidance. This solemn moment helped set a spiritual tone for the day, reflecting the values and vision of the Founder.
Following the prayer, a Tribute to the Founder was presented by strewing the flowers followed by wishing the Sisters on their foundation day. The shedding light on the life and contributions of Fr Mascarenhas, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire generations. A heartfelt and reverent presentation honored his legacy.
A warm welcome address was delivered to acknowledge the esteemed presence of all guests, sisters, teaching and non-teaching staff. The chief guest of the day, Fr Wilson Tauro OCD, a dynamic and creative priest from St Joseph’s Monastery, Bikarnakatte, was introduced.
The cultural segment began with a Skit, portraying the early days of the Bethany Congregation and the founder’s visionary leadership. This was followed by a musical tribute to the founder rendered by the students, celebrating the values of love, service, and sacrifice.
Lively and colorful dance performances added vibrancy to the celebration, showcasing the joy and unity of the school community.
Prize distribution was held to honour the students who had beautifully illustrated potrait of the Founder as part of a drawing competition.
The Chief Guest, Fr Wilson Tauro, addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. He commended the Bethany sisters for their commendable service in the field of education and formation of values.
The Headmistress, Sr Rita Sharal, shared her thoughts and extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest Fr Wilson Tauro.
A sincere vote of thanks was proposed, acknowledging the contribution of every individual who helped to make the celebration meaningful and successful.
